Cream Cheese Bars

This my obligatory blog recipe, and you've probably seen it if you've ever read a blog of mine. It's easy and delicious, and everyone loves them.

Cream Cheese Bars

2 8 oz. packages cream cheese
2 packages of crescent rolls
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 stick butter/margarine
1/4 cup sugar mixed with a tbsp. cinnamon

If you're like me, you never have the foresight to take the cream cheese out early enough for it to soften. So stick those bad boys in the microwave for 30 seconds, flip em around, then another 30 seconds.

Cream the cheese, sugar, and vanilla.

Roll out one package of crescent rolls into a 13x9 pan sprayed with Pam. You might have to work it a bit to make it cover the bottom, but don't overwork it. Spread (or pour, if you went the microwave route) the cream cheese mixture over that, then roll out the other pack of crescent rolls on top.

Melt the stick of butter and pour it all over the top. It looks like too much butter, but it's soooo good. Then sprinkle the cinnamon/sugar on top, and bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes.

And there you have it. My perennial dessert recipe.
