What model of camera do I want?

Monday, January 19, 2009

I am in the market for a camera. I mulled over my mini-laptop decision for several months, and I will probably do the same thing for this camera. I'm looking at the digital SLR's even though I don't even know what that means. All I know is I loved the feel of Tammy's Nikon D40 (right?) and I have thought about upgrading my camera, so I am thinking something along those lines.

I am looking at this one, based on reviews and price:

What do you have, and do you have any advice for me?

I have a Nikon D70. I really like it. My friend has a comparable Canon. I can't say I noticed much of a difference in the quality of the pictures or ease of use, but I prefer the way the Nikon feels in my hands. We both use our cameras for professional pics and they turn out great. I can't wait to see what you decide on.

So lets see...PW uses a Nikon D70, I think that is what Tammy just got. You know, since I think PW hung the photography moon, I say that is a good one to research. Mine is a Kodak easy share point and shoot C875. I love it. I just try for the right light and such and photoshop does the rest. So, I'm really not much help for a DSLR. My best piece of advice would be, before you order online go try them out in the stores so you can feel it in your hands, which I am guessing a conscious consumer like you would do anyway. I'll holler if I hear of anything good.
